JUNE OF 44 TO PLAY FIRST SHOWS IN TWENTY YEARS

Exciting news: the criminally underrated Louisville, KY band June of 44 will be playing
their first shows in nearly twenty years this spring in Italy. The band will be playing a
small tour as the support act for Uzeda, who are celebrating their thirtieth anniversary.
The tour also sees them play a festival put together to honour the aforementioned
Uzeda anniversary...you can also catch Shellac and The Black Heart Procession among
others at that gathering in Catania. All original members are on-board for the reunion
and to refresh everyone’s memory they are: Jeff Mueller (vocals/guitar), Sean Meadows
(vocals/guitar), Doug Scharin (drums) and Fred Erskine (bass/horns). After the band’s
demise in 1999, Mueller continued to play in the also highly influential The Shipping
News; Scharin played and continues to play in the band HiM; Meadows spent time in
HiM, as well as Lungfish and numerous other Chattanooga, Tennessee acts; Erskine
played in the band Abilene.

Hopefully they’re will be more news to come!
