QOTSA & Soundgarden Members Announce New Band: Ten Commandos

So you like supergroups, eh? Well, then your mouth must be watering at the prospect of Ten Commandos, a band consisting of Soundgarden/Pearl Jam drummer Matt Cameron, Soundgarden bassist Ben Shepherd, former Queens of the Stone Age bassist Alain Johannes and OFF! Guitarist Dimitri Coats. The roots of the band actually date back to 2008, when Johannes, Shepherd and Cameron recorded music together after having played a memorial concert in tribute to Johannes’ wife, Natasha Shneider, who had just recently passed away from cancer. It wasn’t until 2014 that the trio would get to record again and by that time Coats had joined them in the project.

The eponymous debut comes out sometime in November courtesy of Monkeywrench Records, which just happens to be owned by Pearl Jam’s Stone Gossard.

You can listen to “Staring Down The Dust” now on Spotify. The track features lead vocals from Screaming Trees, Queens of the Stone Age alum Mark Lanegan.
